Books, Flowers and Trash Cans!

The June 2023 meeting was graced with a small vase of Monarda and St. John's wort, provided by Alice Walker. Her St. John's wort is a bush and not the ground cover. The Monarda, or bee balm, is a lovely, deep red and the two plants had the majority of us drooling. At the end of the meeting, several members went home with stems of the plants, hoping to propagate them for future use.

There was an additional goodie at the meeting. Judy Hudgins brought several gardening books which needed new homes.

Offered to members, they were theirs to take home and add to their library or to read and bring back to swap out to other members later. The books proved to be a nice touch and members are encouraged to bring books from their shelves, of any kind, which need new homes. Kind of a monthly trip to the library, so to speak.

New member, Naomi Paul, who is not only with the Gaston County Beekeepers, also supplies a Free Library in her community. Any books which we can't place, she will take and cycle through the Free Library.
